Yasmin Perfume-Inspired By Penhaligons
Yasmin -Bewitched
Some people walk into a room and others change a room. Yasmin is for the latter. This is the scent of a person who is quietly devastating, someone with a sharp mind and a warm heart. When you wear this, you become "The Enchanter" You aren't just wearing an amber perfume; you are wearing a cloak of mystery that draws people in, leaving them trying to solve the puzzle of who you are.
What it Actually Smells Like
This is a "Hot and Cold" fragrance. It’s a beautiful contradiction.
The First Hit: It starts with a cold, spicy snap of cardamom. It’s sharp, clean, and a little bit "brave." It’s the smell of a winter morning before the sun comes up.
The Heart: Then, the heat arrives. Imagine a cup of strong, black tea brewed with ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. It’s spicy and "red," but softened by a whisper of white flowers that keep it feeling light and elegant.
The Deep Dry Down: This is the "Bewitching" part. It turns into a thick, syrupy blend of dark vanilla and smoky Oud. It smells like a crackling fireplace in a room filled with old books. It’s sweet, but it’s a "grown-up" sweetness, dark, grounded, and slightly dangerous.
The Experience
- It’s a "Glowing" fragrance. It feels like the embers of a fire. It’s a unisex masterpiece that smells like "Quiet Power" on a man and "Dark Elegance" on a woman.
- In my Northamptonshire shop, I’ve refined this to capture that elusive "Yasmin" DNA. Many versions of this scent lose the spice and keep only the sugar, I’ve kept the grit. By balancing the cardamom against the vanilla, I’ve created a scent that is sophisticated from the first spray to the final trace.
- This is for the person who doesn't want to smell like a fruit bowl or a flower bed. It’s for the person who wants to smell like a secret.
- This is an "Immersive" scent. To truly live in the story, layer it with our Body Elixir. It creates a scent-bubble that stays with you, ensuring that your "bewitching" trail lingers long after you’ve left.
The Disruptive Truth
Most perfumes are a pleasant greeting. Yasmin is a deep conversation. It’s for the person who knows that being "nice" is fine, but being "unforgettable" is better. If you’re ready to own your mystery, this is your bottle.
It's important to spritz your Yasmin fragrance on the areas of the body that are naturally warm, such as, your wrists, the nape of your neck, behind your knees, behind your ear, and inside your elbows.
Resist rubbing your wrists together. Fragrance should sit on the skin in order to mix with your natural oils, rubbing wrists together breaks down the top notes which means they will fade and evaporate quickly.
Fragrance binds to the oils in your skin, so applying it after your body oil creates a better surface for the scent molecules to bind to.
If like me you like to spritz your winter coat then go for it, just remember that it's a different olfactory experience than when you correctly apply perfume to your skin.
Rule of thumb: If you can wash the fabric, then spritz away !
