Tom Ford Rose Prick scent perfume

Trilogy Perfume- Rose Prick

If you’re looking for a shy, "garden-party" rose, you’re in the wrong place. Trilogy is for the person who is elegant on the surface but possesses a wit sharp enough to cut glass. Inspired by  "Rose Prick", it’s the ultimate "Armed Diplomat", perfectly polished, but always carrying a sting. Wearing this tells the room you’re a masterpiece, but you aren’t a pushover. It’s not just a perfume; it’s a high-definition warning that some roses are simply too dangerous to pick.

What it Actually Smells Like

This is a "Thorny" Floral. It’s built on a triple-threat of roses that have been dragged through a spice market.

  • The Sharp Opening: It starts with a literal "sting." The Sichuan Pepper and Turmeric create a dry, spicy heat that feels electric. It’s a bright, golden spark that tells the world you’ve arrived before the flowers even show up.

  • The Rose Siege: Most perfumes use one rose. We used three. We’ve layered May, Bulgarian, and Turkish roses to create a scent that is "thick," jammy, and incredibly opulent. These aren't "pretty" roses; they are powerful ones.

  • The Grounded Finish: As the spice settles, the Patchouli and Tonka Bean take over. It turns the fragrance into something earthy, dark, and creamy. It feels like luxury leather and dried petals.

The Experience

  •  It’s a "Sharp-Then-Soft" fragrance. It feels like a silk-lined leather jacket. Because of the heavy spice and earthy patchouli, it is fiercely unisex. On a man, it’s a sophisticated, "dandy" statement; on a woman, it’s pure, unadulterated power.
  •  I hand-pour this in my Northamptonshire shop because the high-street version is often too "polite." I wanted Trilogy to have more "bite." I’ve used a higher concentration of the Sichuan pepper to ensure the roses never feel "granny-like."
  • This is for the person who is tired of being "sweet." If you want a floral that has a spine, this is your signature.
  • This is an "Endurance" scent. The Tonka bean acts as a magnet, locking the rose oils to your skin so you still smell like a masterpiece at 2:00 AM.

The Disruptive Truth

The world has enough "pretty" roses. What it needs is a rose that fights back. Trilogy is for the person who knows that the most beautiful things in life are often the most dangerous. If you’re ready to stop being "nice" and start being "iconic," this is your bottle.

  • It's important to spritz your fragrance on the areas of the body that are naturally warm,  such as your wrists, the nape of your neck, behind your knees, behind your ear, and inside your elbows.

Resist rubbing your wrists together. Fragrance should sit on the skin to mix with your natural oils, rubbing wrists together breaks down the top notes which means they will fade and evaporate quickly.

Fragrance binds to the oils in your skin, so applying it after your body oil creates a better surface for the scent molecules to bind to.

If like me you like to spritz your clothes then go for it, just remember that it's a different olfactory experience than when you correctly apply perfume to your skin.

Rule of thumb: If you can wash the fabric, then spritz away, just be careful of the delicate fabrics & some perfumes may stain!
